Let’s say you have a coach who manages two different teams in two different divisions. You certainly don’t want those two teams to be scheduled at the same time. The approach described below relates to coaches but the same procedure can be used to avoid double-booking players.

First create a coach in the people tab.

You can customize the labels used on the people tab by clicking the configuration button.

Once you have created the coach, assign them to the two (or more teams) they manage.

Assigning coaches to teams

When you run the first schedule that involves the coach, nothing unusual will happen. It should schedule as normal. However, when you go to schedule the second division, you will be presented with this dialog box.

As you can see, you have 3 choices.

  1. Ignore the conflicts (let’s say there’s an assistant coach who can cover some of the games)
  2. Make sure the coach is not scheduled for a second game on the same day
  3. Require x number of minutes from the start of the first game to the start of the second games.

This feature will avoid double-booking coaches and/or players.
